New varieties and rootstocks, crop intensification

Cherry research is focusing on the following major themes: new varieties and rootstocks, crop intensification (rain shelters, irrigation, fertigation, …) which all fit in the strategy to modernize this sector. Parameters which are evaluated for the new varieties are:  production level, taste, harvesting time and sensitivity for cracking.
