In this Industry 4.0 experimental garden the project partners aim to demonstrate the application of new hyperspectral camera’s mounted on a drone or tractor supported by appropriate software processing for offline and online disease detection in potato and pipfruit. The image analysis platforms will be modular in concept and structure allowing their later use in other applications than the two cases tackled in this project. In potato Alternaria will be detected using a drone based hyperspectral detection system, while in apple and pear the tractor system will detect bacterial fire blight (Erwinia amylovora) symptoms throughout the trees.
